Children's Program

One of the most powerful gifts you can give your child is positive self-esteem. It empowers them to achieve in all areas of their life, from school to their home life, in sports as well as in the community. At World Martial Arts Academy, our carefully structured martial arts programs are geared to bring out the best in your child. Through an exciting program of self-defense, fitness, and fun, your child will be equipped with the attributes of success, including confidence, a positive attitude, increased concentration, and self-discipline.

5 REASONS EVERY CHILD SHOULD BE IN TAEKWONDO

Improved Report Card:
Our curriculum is designed to teach children the importance of concentration. Improved concentration means that your child will learn more at school. Therefore, you can expect your child to receive better grades for both academics and attitude. In our school, children who receive A's and B's on their report card receive a red star for their uniform indicating that they are an academic achiever.

Improved Health:
Taekwondo is a great workout. Your child will breathe better, eat better, and sleep better. Children who take Taekwondo are more physically fit, make healthier decisions about food, and learn to take better care of themselves. You won't see any of our Black Belt students smoking or using drugs, now or ever!

Positive Attitude:
Kids in our program learn to have a positive and respectful attitude towards their parents and teachers. You will notice a difference in the way your child behaves at home and at school. You might even catch your child responding to you with "Yes Ma'am" or "Yes Sir!"

Self-Confidence:
It's true, kids who take Taekwondo develop better self-confidence; they are encouraged to take chances and to push themselves further than they thought possible. The success they experience through Taekwondo teaches them that they can be successful at anything if they truly believe they can and are willing to work hard. Improved confidence leads to better grades, a better circle of friends, and better performance in sports and extracurricular activities.

Self-Defense:Taekwondo teaches two forms of self-defense. One is physical; your child will improve his/her strength, flexibility, and overall health. Additionally, your child will learn to defend himself/herself with tremendous power and effectiveness. Hopefully your child will never need to use Taekwondo for self-defense, but should the occasion arise, he/she will know how to protect himself/herself.

The second form of self-defense Taekwondo teaches is internal; children learn to spot danger and avoid dangerous people, places, and activities. Taekwondo can help your child avoid the need for a physical confrontation. This second form of self-defense is perhaps the more valuable of the two.

Adult/ Family Classes

Our Adult / Family program is aimed towards students ages 13 and up, but the classes also give parents the opportunity to train in the martial arts alongside their younger children.

Our program provides adult students with a variety of both physical and mental benefits. Not only is Taekwondo an excellent workout, it also teaches values such as goal setting, discipline, and self-esteem, which lead to a lifetime of constant self-development. Students will experience increased strength, flexibility, energy, and overall cardiovascular fitness. More importantly, they will gain confidence, better focus, and experience lower stress levels.

Families with children of all ages are welcome to attend the adult / family classes as well. Taekwondo provides families with an opportunity to train together in a fun and encouraging environment. Parents and children will motivate each other to succeed and celebrate each other's accomplishments.

Adults and older children will learn advanced curriculum, such as Hapkido, a defensive martial art that focuses on using the opponent's energy against himself. Adults attending the High Belt classes may also learn weapon training. Younger children attending these classes will learn more age-appropriate techniques.

Grand Master Yun believes that Taekwondo is the only place where a family can have great bonding time through kicking and sweating together.

Little Tigers

This program is geared towards children ages 3-5. Each Little Tigers class is half an hour long and incorporates exercises, basic self-defense techniques, and focus-related games. Children in this program develop basic motor skills while gaining increased confidence, self-esteem, respect for elders, and discipline.
